California Physical Education Standards
There are five overall CA Physical Education Standards with specific standards outlined to each area. The following is a summary of each - you can go online or see your teacher for more details.
Standard 1 Motor Skills - Students demonstrate the motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
Standard 2 Movement Knowledge - Students demonstrate knowledge of movement concepts, principles, and strategies that apply to the learning of performance of physical activities.
Standard 3 Fitness Assessment - Students assess and maintain a level of physical fitness to improve health and performance.
Standard 4 Fitness Knowledge - Students demonstrate knowledge of physical fitness concepts, principles, and strategies to improve health and performance.
Standard 5 Psychological/Sociological - Students demonstrate and utilize knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, principles, and strategies that apply to the learning and performance of physical activity.
